Classic British Walking Boots from Brasher
When it comes to classic British walking boots, few companies have as good a reputation as Brasher. Their ‘Hillmaster’ boots have been popular for over 15 years, and they’ve come to symbolize Britain’s love of rambling and the great outdoors for many. With a simple, classic design and blending trusted leather with modern Gore-Tex fabrics, these walking boots are now synonymous with practical design, fine workmanship and durability.
History
Chris Brasher founded this company towards the end of the 1970’s. A one time Olympic gold medallist, he’d come up with the idea for comfortable walking boots during an arduous 180-mile hike in Wales. The design he came up with led to success worldwide, and Brasher ‘Hillmaster’ boots are recognized among the best selling British brands of all time. The design of the boots has not changed over the years, and yet they still outperform many modern designs and brands. Brasher Hillmaster were among the very first lightweight and comfortable walking boots available to the public. Being among the first to feature a Gore-Tex inner lining which makes them windproof and waterproof in the extreme surely forms part of their lasting appeal.
